Occupational Safety Officer at FMTIS

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) is recruiting an Occupational Safety Officer for the Operational Safety Department, located in Örebro or Enköping.
About the Position/Department
As an Occupational Safety Officer, you will have the coordinating responsibility to drive FMTIS's systematic occupational safety work forward in accordance with occupational safety legislation and the Armed Forces' governing documents. You are the organization's expert resource in occupational safety work, and through your competence and commitment, you support the organization. The position involves some travel to the unit's operational locations where you will assist in conducting risk assessments, training initiatives, investigations, and occupational safety matters. You will be part of a team that currently consists of 10 employees. The department has specialists in several specific functional areas such as fire safety, environmental safety, occupational safety, electrical safety, masts and towers, and handling flammable materials. The department is located in the unit's headquarters, and the employees provide advisory support to the unit commander and lead the implementation of operational safety work towards the unit's units by writing unit-wide procedures/instructions in the area.

Main Responsibilities
The department works exclusively with regulated operations. Within this area of responsibility, you will monitor changes in applicable laws, regulations, internal regulations, conducted risk assessments, and other requirements that affect FMTIS operations and propose changes to the unit's governing documents/procedures and plan how the changes should be implemented.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Higher education with a focus on occupational safety, such as Occupational Safety Engineer education, or other orientation or education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Good knowledge in the field of occupational safety and well acquainted with the laws, regulations, and requirements we as an employer must follow regarding occupational safety
- Current experience of having independently driven, coordinated, and developed operational and strategic occupational safety work with good results
- Accustomed to acting as a consultative support for management
- Good ability to express oneself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Driver's license class B or higher
Personal Qualities

You have the commitment required to drive systematic occupational safety work in a large and geographically dispersed organization. DESIRABLE
- Previous experience working with occupational safety issues within the Armed Forces
- In addition to occupational safety, previous experience from other operational safety areas
- Previous experience of staff work within a government agency
- Experience working according to AFS 2001:1 as standards for systematic occupational safety work and being accustomed to planning and leading training, networks, and similar
- Experience implementing and developing processes and working methods and being able to translate these into practice
- Experience in internal auditing
Other
This is a civilian position. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. The position is a permanent employment. A six-month probationary period applies for those who are not currently employed within the FM. Stationing location: Örebro or Enköping. Since the unit has operations throughout Sweden, travel may occur in the position.
